About Full Gospel Tabernacle
About Our Pastor
Pastor and Bible teacher.
Pastor Paul Cookson has been Senior Minister at the Full Gospel Tabernacle for over 15 years.
At 38 years of age, Pastor Paul was a drinker and a drug user that walked into church with his wife, an atheist, one day, and had a miraculous encounter with Christ that changed his life. After six months he started preaching and trained to become a Pastor.
He is now a seasoned man of God and a knowledgeable Bible teacher. His vision is to reach the lost with the love of God, meeting the needs of the community.
We Believe
1. In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
2. In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
3. That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
4. That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
5. That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are found by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
6. In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
7. Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.
8. Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a separate and subsequent experience following conversion. Spirit baptism brings empowerment to live an overcoming Christian life and to be an effective witness.
9. In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
10. In water baptism by immersion, all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
11. In keeping communion with God through the breaking of bread and drinking of wine emblems remembering Christ death, resurrection, and imminent return.
13. The “imminent and blessed hope” of the Church is its rapture preceding the bodily return of Christ to earth.
14. The rapture of the Church will be followed by the visible return of Christ and his reign on earth for a thousand years.
15. There will be a final judgment and eternal damnation for the “wicked dead”.
16. There will be future new heavens and a new earth “wherein dwelleth righteousness”.
